The oldest notationally realizable piece of music in the world (c. 408 B.C.). Here realized in the enharmonic dorian as opposed to the more common chromatic genera. My main historical basis for doing this is that I think it sounds exponentially better, and of course I read history and surviving treatises in ways that support that inclination.

"You wild goddesses who dart across the skies
seeking vengeance for murder, we beg you to free
Agamemnon's son from his raging fury....
We grieve for this boy. Happiness is brief among mortals.
Sorrow and anguish sweep down on it
like a swift gust of wind on a sail boat,
and it sinks under the tossing seas."
